Following the trend of MTN Season of surprises, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Premièred a special edition themed “Who Deserves To Be Surprised? The idea was to get Nigerians to nominate someone who has been selfless and generous to them for a spot on the Hot seat, playing with the help of a quiz master to win N10m and an ultimate surprise gift worth N50m.
Having received thousands of entries across the country, and ensuring they undergo thorough verification process, eight candidates made it through to the final stage. They each came on board with unique and touching stories that will move and inspire you.
Omotola Akinsola, an indigene of Oyo state was the first nominee to make it to the Hot seat. Omotola who is the founder and Director of Jumpstart Academy- an N.G.O focused on teenage and youth development in Ibadan was nominated by Mayowa Daniel for her laudable community projects in the state.
She was joined on the Hot seat by Olaolu- a Quizmaster who had won N2m on the show and together they played their way through the money tree, vying for N10m and possibly the ultimate grand prize of a house worth N50m.
It was an intriguing show as Omotola and Olaolu intelligently scaled through the questions till she reached the N250,000 guaranteed level. But unfortunately couldn't go further as she exhausted her lifelines and got the next question wrong.
However, aside winning the N250,000, she still stands the chance of winning the surprise gift worth N50m if only the next person to get on the Hot seat doesn't score higher.
